★ Personality: Izaya claims to love humanity, although his definition of "love" is much different than one would assume. Izaya loves the unpredictability of human nature and enjoys putting people in chaotic situations to observe their reactions. He is prone to underestimating other people and is quick to forget everything about the person as soon as he is done messing with them. Unfortunately for Izaya he is terribly lonely and is said to have a delicate heart (according to Shinra his oldest friend). He is just a mess all over.
★ History: An info-broker who lives in Shinjuku, Izaya grew up with absent parents and raising his younger sisters. He has been causing trouble since highschool, and it has been an escalation since then. At the time canon takes place, he sells info to a variety of people, and having secrets on almost everyone means he can cause a lot of trouble in Ikebukuro. It tends to backfire on him.
★ Appearance: Izaya is a slim young man, repeatedly described by other characters as "fragile looking". His face is often said to be beautiful, soft, and gentle, but with a bold, intrepid edge — "a perfect materialization of some ideal of handsomeness." The look in Izaya's eyes is said to be warm and all-accepting, but at the same time, arrogant and disdainful.
